If you’re planning to host a family event like no other, we have some great advice to help you out! In this article we give some great advice for those of you wishing to host a ‘wedding’ style full day family event.

If you’re looking for services and entertainment for a birthday party up to 3 hours we would love to direct you to our entertainment service page.

Who is this blog for?

This blog is for someone who is planning a longer family event with a large number of guests. This may be a one off family event because your family may not get together very often or you have a big occasion to celebrate such as a milestone birthday, anniversary or christening. It may also be that you have a larger than usually expected budget and are also using an event planner – or you may be an event planner yourself.

What do we mean by ‘Wedding’ style?

By this we mean a longer than usual period of time which requires more entertainment and activities than usual throughout the occasion. It may include a large number of guests with a wide range of ages. It typically requires a schedule of events creating so that your guests are fully aware of the entertainment and activities on offer to them and the times.

What we can offer for a family event.

We can speak to you regarding your event taking details such as the expected numbers, ages and the type of event you are having. From there we can recommend which of our services we can offer and provide an accurate quote based on your location.

Services we can provide

DJ Party Host – We have a flexible option for our party host meaning that they are adaptable on the day to what is happening at your event. They help facilitate other activities around the event and also provide entertainment where required. They can provide up to a 3 hour intensive ‘party’ section filled with games, challenges and activities. Your host would be the one to make an announcements at the event and also be a contact point for you on the day for any other services booked with us.

Photo Booth – We provide a family photo booth with a fantastically presented props table. This goes down a treat for all ages and we have some great packages for you and your guests.

Face and Body Painter – Our face painter is another great option to suit most ages and interests. Tips to remember when planning a large family event.

Common Problem 1 – Too much happening all at once! You want to make the most out of what you are offering and by having other entertainment and activities you may not get the most out of what you have booked.
Eg. An entertainer trying to keep 40 children sitting and watching a mini show or playing a game may find it hard whilst there is soft play, bouncy castles or face painting. It can be distracting for children and also the entertainer.

How to solve – If you’re wanting a number of different types of entertainment and activities – create a schedule of events and make sure they don’t clash or distract from what is currently on offer. Also speak to your entertainer and ask how they feel about working alongside other activities and services.

Common Problem 2Theres a huge range of ages throughout your party and you’re not sure how to keep them entertained and/or occupied.

How to solve – Look at the options you have and work out what ages they are appropriate for and the length of time they are at their best. For example; For toddlers you may have soft play for the first half of your party then a bouncy castle.
